Anasarca is a condition characterised by severe generalised edema of the body , resulting in the accumulation of the fluids in the interstitial space 

The physiological abnormalities underlying anasarca stems from an imbalance in sterling forces that regulates fluid movements between vascular and surrounding tissues ,resulting in widespread fluid accumulation in the interstitial spaces throughout the body.
