33 year old female known case of retinitis pigmentosa since early childhood, recently diagnosed hyperlipidemia and on statins. developed motion sickness every time she travels anywhere (not only on hilly areas) from last 2 weeks. symptoms include nausea and dizziness. How to manage her?

I think there is no clear association of retinitis pigmentosa and motion sickness.

Motion sickness, once starts, is almost always accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

Treatment is the same as in general population:

  • Ist generation antihistamine, or
  • Scopolamine.

Scopolamine is considered the treatment of choice.
