Miconazole and Zinc Oxide (Vusion) is a combination of antifungal medicine and zinc oxide that has antiseptic properties. It is used in the treatment of diaper dermatitis caused by candida.

Miconazole and Zinc Oxide (Vusion) Dose in the treatment of Diaper dermatitis: Topical:

  • Children ≥4 weeks:

    • Apply the cream to the affected area when changing the diaper each time for seven days.
    • Continue the treatment for a total of seven days even if the improvement is noticed after the first few days.
    • Do not exceed the treatment duration of seven days.

Side effects of Vusion:

How to administer Vusion?

  • It is intended for topical use (external use) in children. It should be applied to the affected area after each diaper change.
  • The medicine should be applied to a dried and cleaned area. Avoid rubbing or using it over mucosal surfaces such as in the eyes, oral cavity, anal or vaginal orifices.
  • After applying the medicine, wash your hands. The use of scented or perfumed soaps, shampoos, or lotions should not be applied over the affected area. The diaper should be frequently changed.

Mechanism of action of Miconazole & Zinc Oxide (Vusion)

Miconazole damages fungal cells by interfering with the biosynthesis ergosterol. Zinc Oxide is mildly astringent and has antiseptic qualities.
